I can't say I checked compression and regrettably didn't check valve face position or piston upstand since I ordered the parts in advance to try and get it back together as soon as possible, I just used a 1.6mm gasket since that's what was already on there. Valve stem caps are all still there...

no oil on slave or master cylinder, slave doesn't move when pedal pressed slowly but does when its pressed quickly so i presume it's a problem with the master cylinder?

fluid rises but doesn't splash at all, pedal doesn't feel spongy at all like air in the system? either feels like no resistance or when quickly pressed just feels normal. can't see any leaks and it was fine one minute then gone the next?

Missing bits and the injection pump was half knackered and i picked it up cheap anyway as a project. Looks to have been owned by a master bodger at some point as well as there was some pretty dodgy wiring and other repairs on it!

Thought I'd pop a thread up on here of my series 2 rebuild, plan is to get it all mechanically sound and sort out a few patches of rust along with a new bulkhead, also planning on doing a 200di conversion to it at the same time
