    Sluggish disco.........not any more!

Just done mine this afternoon. 1.5 turns on top bolt one turn on spider wheel just past 90 degrees on diaphragm No smoke and a definite improvement in performance. I'm often sceptical about small mods like this, often any improvement seems to be down to the placebo effect. But there is a...

Injector Seat Leaking - New Cylinder Head Required?

Thanks Dirty Tom. All sorted now. I bought an injector seat cutter for £25 on ebay, cut the seat, dropped in a new washer and it's job done!

Injector Seat Leaking - New Cylinder Head Required?

Hi, I am having an issue with one of my injector seats leaking. This issue became apparent to me after a recent HG change. I have removed the injector to inspect the seat and can see obvious damage to the cylinder head. There is essentially a channel formed between the injector seat and...

Thank you to everyone who offered advice. Valve clearances checked and adjusted and.... It's Aliiiiiiive!!!!:D Running nice and smooth, exhaust a bit blue/white to start with but soon cleared once up to temperature. Only problem now is engine seems to be overheating. Air lock in cooling system?

Head gasket went, now Disco won't start.

I have tried to start it with the wire connected to the stop solenoid, but with no joy. Melted wires was one of my thoughts but there doesn't seem to be any, so I assume something got wet and knackered a relay or something somewhere.

Head gasket went, now Disco won't start.

I didn't think to check the valve clearances. I was careful not to disturb anything so thought I'd get away with it. I'll check/adjust 'em and let you know how I get on. Thank you for taking the time to help.

Head gasket went, now Disco won't start.

Hi, As I mentioned in a previous thread, the head gasket recently blew on my 300tdi. When it blew, I guess coolant got into the electrics somewhere as the stop solenoid on the fuel pump shut and cut-out the engine. I am fairly competent with a spanner, so I replaced the head gasket myself...

    What equipment do I need?

Many thanks for your replies. Unfortunately I never got to go off-roading on Sunday due to the disco blowing its head gasket on Friday! :( Just towed it home today. I've now got a week a and a half to get it fixed before the next opportunity to get it off road.

    What equipment do I need?

I'm new to the forum but have had a good read through and a search of past threads, but not been able to come up with the info I'm looking for (although I'm sure it must be on here somewhere). I'm planning on taking a trip to Slindon Safari on Sunday for my first bash at off-roading in my new...
