this is a heavy judder through pedal, you can also hear it very loud. Its a loud thud thud. Any ideas i would appreciate. P.s. I wear hearing aids, so it shows how noisy it is.

Hi, got freelander 1.8 k 2001. Had problem with n.s.r. brake sticking,, changed drums etc, handbrake cable, abs sensor wire. My problem now is that when you press brake pedal i now have a judder through pedal, you can also hear it. Didn't have it before, have i desturbed something? Thanks

Have you replaced fuel filter? can course problem you have if full of crap, and way over due changing

Total rebuild without hoses as they were new.

Chatting to bloke the other day, he had same problem as you, he found his immboliser was the problem. Hope this helps Andy

it might be an easy job, but I dont have the equipment to grind the head off, replace the bits in the head, or refurbish them. then rebuild, with new water pump etc. So for us none skilled without engineering equipment its great value

Guy in leicester will strip it, rebuild the head encluding surface grinding, new valves seals bolts etc, rebuild it onto your engine, for £315. All you do is get it to him. Hi, new to the 4x4 market, bought a 2001 1.8 K engine freelander. Seems to be using coolant. Expansion bottle empty, regular. No white smoke or oil in water, any ideas? Also is it possible to swap the engine for one of the later BMW engines? If so any ideas on what other bits need changing...

Hi, just bought freelander 2001 1.8 petrol. N.s.r brake keeps sticking, new drums and pads fitted and new handbrake cable just fitted by us. Any idea's how to stop this happening? We changed all this bits as it keep sticking, but problem still there.:confused:
