    Rear door lock problems

Hi all, Went out to the Landy today to have a poke around, etc. Rear door lock seems bust - the key turns the lock completely freely without actually unlocking it... no resistance and it isn't engaging. Any way to fix it? Or is it just a replace job... would rather not have a separate key for...

It works! Also ignition surround removal query.

Hi all, Many (read 5) months ago I posted about my Series 3 Carawagon which I'm going to get restored. Little progress has been made since then, mainly due to having lost the immobiliser dongle. Anyway, I found it, battery in, immobiliser disabled and the engine turned! Wooo! No fresh fuel (or...

1991 Vogue SE 3.9 Auto SORN

‘H’ reg 1991 Range Rover Classic Vogue SE 3.9 petrol. 179k miles. Ardennes Green. The paintwork is pretty good considering the age, with some scratches on the sides as well as rusting on the bonnet. The interior is pretty good too, though there’s the sagging in the roof...

    WD40 in cylinder

Turns out there was no need to worry! Removed a few spark plugs and hand cranked it a bit, they were all turning freely (with a few clouds of soot here and there!), no problem! Now, some fresh fuel, find a decent battery and it's time to turn the thing!

    WD40 in cylinder

    WD40 in cylinder

Hi all, On the long, hard road to getting a 8 years inactive Series to drive again. I haven't confirmed it, but it seems quite likely that the cylinders will be seized... I've read that you can try to fix it with a penetrating oil. I have WD40, does that count or will it damage it? If so, what...

    Stuck handbrake

Hi all, 1991 Range Rover has been sitting for about 5 years (I'm a sinner), tried to release the handbrake to give it a push, get it out the way a bit, but it would appear the handbrake is stuck on... Any ideas? Thanks!

    Electrolysis time!

Okay, so I've got a few rusty bits and pieces in my Series 3 to deal with, I don't think any are a huge problem, but a rusty gubbins looks awful and to my mind is less impressive for the MOT man as well. I've read about electrolysis, anyone had any experience using this method of rust removal...

    Some pedal problem diagnosis?

Years, and several of them, unfortunately... Yeah, I was anticipating that... jerry cans at the ready! Okay, I'll look all those up in the workshop manual and do it all slowly, I'll learn a lot at the same time I'm sure! :D

    Some pedal problem diagnosis?

Okay, that's a useful piece of info, thanks, I know where to start now :) Ah! Okay, was being really dim there... I'll have a real hard go at it when I have a moment, perhaps I was a bit too timid if it's stuck somehow... Yes, I imagine oil should be drained and new stuff added? Radiator too...

    Some pedal problem diagnosis?

Hi there, I didn't see one at all on the accelerator actually, is it in the footwell like the brake springs or is it further inside the workings? Pumped it up? I'm sorry, my knowledge of such things really is awful! What does pumping up the brake entail? Battery coming soon, so I'll report...
