    Release cheater panel it says....

Sorry I am somewhat late to the party here... As others have mentioned, I am out of the UK at the moment and not entirely sure when I will be back yet - covid and work is kind of steering that one! It sounds like you have sorted out your locking issues - but a few bits for you to note... The...

    P38 Central locking noise

Hi there, I think I've seen an email from you - but haven't had a chance lately to sit down and reply to emails from the website. I am still currently in NZ until at least the start of October, so won't be able to do anything until then at the earliest. I would recommend a decent second had...

    Marty

Hi all, Thanks for the concern and test message tomcat59alan. I am still alive, yes... I am also still out in New Zealand at the moment. I was due to come back to the UK at the end of April, but my flight was cancelled and refunded by the airline due to schedule changes. I've also had...

    P38 Diesel Heater Matrix Bypass

I've done plenty of the Audi heater core swaps. There is a rib in the middle of the heater box which needs to be removed (a sharp chisel will do it) as the Audi core is just a little bit fatter than the LR one.

    P38A 4.6 hse

Sorry, just seen I'm tagged in this - I'm not on the forums much at the moment, and am also out of the UK until the end of April for work. But the clue to all this is in the first post (in my opinion). You mention that you don't have central locking, window, or mirror working on the door...

Unexpected issue with swapping the instrument pack on a P38

Sorry - As Grrrrr mentioned I am away again (and not on this forum very often either). Instrument clusters.... I believe that the cluster holds the mileage in either kms of miles - so just swapping the cluster - whilst the numbers being right, might do some weird conversion... I'm really not...

    P38 BCU Problems?

I have the tools to reset BECM lockouts, as @brianp38dse mentions. However, I am leaving the UK on Saturday for awhile as I have work options back in NZ - where there's nothing here in the UK. If the BECM is with me by the latest of Thursday, then I can have it reset and being sent back to...

    P38 BCU Problems?

So the EKA allowed the doors to unlock, but you still get Engine Disabled? Do all the doors lock/unlock on the key in the door now? If so, try syncing the key fob in the door by pressing/holding lock whilst locking the vehicle with the key, and then doing the same with the unlock button whilst...

P38A Battery replacement and draining issues

Thanks for the tags re the fob filters. I've PM'd you, Bob - but will post here aswell... Unfortunately we are out of stock of the RF Filters at the moment - we are waiting for a new batch of main circuit boards to be manufactured and shipped to us, but as yet I don't have even an estimate on...

    milk in my becm

If you see a constant voltage then something has really gone wrong, yes. In theory with probes between those 2 wires - on either rear door (as they're driven from the same relay - but just routed out of different connectors for each door) you should see 0V when nothing is happening. When you...

    milk in my becm

I'll just copy/paste what I put in the other thread with this same question. By default the 3 wires to the 2 locking motors are all grounded in the relay, as they are a double-coil twin contact relay to allow for polarity changes. The Superlocking motor is ONLY used when superlocking the...

    P38 rear door won't open

Don't put 12V on the Black wire - it's connected to ground and in the rear doors is only connected to the door open switch - to tell the BECM if the door is open or not. By default the 3 wires to the 2 locking motors are all grounded in the relay, as they are a double-coil twin contact relay to...

P38A Quick Audio Q.Highline pre DSP

Steering wheel controls would have originally been on the 8 way ISO block that goes to Pin 3 - Grey/Orange wire.

P38 ICE -Return to ‘Stock’ question(S)

The 2 connectors are antenna connectors. One is AM/FM and the other is FM only - the P38 had "diversity" FM on it so the head unit would use whichever signal was strongest., hence 2 aerial connections. Yes, door amps are the the boxes you've got a picture of, and wiring does look good. Head...

P38 ICE -Return to ‘Stock’ question(S)

As I've already said - your vehicle never had a DSP amp. They weren't fitted until around the 2000MY with factory Nav - even the later HSE's etc through 2001 without factory nav still had amps in the doors, which is what your vehicle will have shipped with. That box is a GPS tracker, yes - I...

P38 ICE -Return to ‘Stock’ question(S)

If you have a 1998, and there's nothing in the gap behind where the sub lives (note that there isn't a massive wiring loom and connector there), then you never had a DSP amp to begin with. DSP amps were only fitted to the later vehicles with the Alpine head unit, and with factory Nav (mostly...

Anyone in leicester with a nanocom please

Or occasionally >>£4000 gets you one that's actually been looked after and parts replaced as and when it's been needed, and is actually worth the money... >>£10000 gets you a low mileage Jap import that people are hocking off because of the low mileage, but it's probably 20+ years old and...

Anyone in leicester with a nanocom please

The passenger door won't have any effect on EKA entry. If you can unlock the drivers door with the key, but none of the other doors unlock (aka the central locking isn't working) then this is NORMAL. Also it is somewhat normal for doors to go into superlock mode when the BECM goes into...

Anyone in leicester with a nanocom please

But NOT whilst it's in lockout. I tried it on the bench with 3 different software versions of BECM, and they all reverted to showing the settings as they were before. Think about it... why would they make it if it's locked itself out and needed the EKA in the first place that you could just go...

Anyone in leicester with a nanocom please

Sorry - just seen I've been tagged in this. I've just come in from a day of refurbishing door latches, so will attempt to respond more tomorrow. But in short... KEYCODE LOCKOUT and ENGINE DISABLED are 2 different things. KEYCODE LOCKOUT means the BECM has had too many incorrect attempts at...
