    p38 intermittent overheating

Hi I've got a 1998 4.0se with an intermittent overheating problem. Works OK most of the time but occasionally overheats. When it does, the hoses are rock solid with the pressure. I can usually cool it back down when driving by having the heater on full blast. I've looked for the viscous fan...

Diagnostic Device Costs - a Comparison...

Know what you mean saint. Fault mate is about £550 to access all areas but locked to one vehicle. Result diagnostics for the wifes car about £200 to access all areas on all Renault models with no restrictions and free software upgrades!

    best diagnostics

Just looked up the fault mate msv-2 exteme and its about £550 for a single vehicle kit for the p38 or £495 for the nano. Doesn't seem too bad. Says it can be used as a stand alone for some functions too. That means I can get this and a Renault clip for the wife's car in my budget. Just!

    best diagnostics

Probably got a budget of about £650 Max for this so I'll have to price it all up. Don't mind if its locked to my vehicle only
