    P38A Range Rover P38 4.0 for sale

Hi all Hope I have enough forum time behind me for this to be considered ok. I am advertising my P38 which is in great running condition. It is on coils so I know won’t appeal to many here. Would appreciate any feedback Etc. I have started high but am willing to come down on price. Let me know...

The end of Sayers MR (Heathrow)

I have noticed today that Sayers MR - decent little Landy indy out by Heathrow - has closed its doors. I think the guys have simply retired. Shame as they were a nice bunch who offered good service at a reasonable price. If anyone knows of a local alternative I am all ears as I need to have...

P38A Can I buy this exp. tank connector?

That's the bobby. On reflection my garage did not replace that a whole back - I have inspected the other end and it is certainly an original. I have ordered the complete assembly.

P38A Can I buy this exp. tank connector?

I hoped this might be a viable answer but wasn't sure! I will attempt a decent DIY.

P38A Can I buy this exp. tank connector?

Hi all I bought a new plastic pipe that runs around and on top of my expansion tank last year. The garage seem to have left the old connector on. It now seems to be leaking - see pic. Is there any way of buying just the connector? Online all I can find is the entire assembly. Any help...

    P38A Whats it worth?

Less than expected abuse. Whats happened to you guys! Yes coils and low spec. When I bought it I wanted as little down time as possible and after 4 years, the only time it has faltered is a couple of relays and the O rings which I am deeply chuffed with! I think I might get more interest...

    P38A Whats it worth?

Hi all I am thinking of replacing my P38 after 4 years of decent ownership. Prices are all over the place so I thought I might gain some opinions here on what I should advertise it for. Its a 99 with the later Thor V8. It had the block replaced with a Turner item by a LR specialist some time...

    How long does yours last?

Thanks Marty - I will grab a meter from work tomorrow and assess. Could be the RF receiver - I will speak to the previous owner. If buying a new RF receiver - is it simply plug and play or is there syncing etc required? Marty I'm surprised you don't make your own version of the newest spec...

    How long does yours last?

Hi Neil yes sorry for vagueness.... it's a 99 4.0 Thor V8. I will have a look at those YT checks. Can't remember the specifics off the top of my head other than its 1000 cca!

    How long does yours last?

How long do people think a decent battery should last? I bought a new heavy duty battery (huge) 2 years ago and now I am in a position of it flattening itself within about a week - as far as I am aware I don't have any gremlins unless it is something else - how can I best check my alternator...

Thanks for replies all. I will discuss with Marty and decide if I'm capable!

P38A Who in the South East can replace my heater matrix?

Hi all Think I need my heater matrix replacing. RHD, '99, Thor. I have looked at the guides - looks an extensive job and although I have done the O rings I am not sure I have the time/space to tackle it. My usual garages, RR London in Battersea and Sayers MR in Heathrow, don't fancy doing the...

P38A One for you coolant experts...

Wow that Paulp38 site is good. I can't go to all that effort and leave in my problematic LH blend motor so I might have to find someone who knows how all the HEVAC works to come and help me diagnose what's wrong with that. For the time being I might have to re-route around the matrix as having a...

P38A One for you coolant experts...

When you tried to do it Brian did you cut the dash frame? I have tried to read as much I can on the various forums and there is a bit of chat regarding cutting the dash frame but I can't find much about it. I will have another look next weekend.

P38A One for you coolant experts...

I think I'm sure - as per my photo it's bone dry but coolant dribbling from the screw. Have looked at the job - bit if dash frame cutting coming up. Tempted to get someone to take the dash out and sort everything - blend motors for peace of mind etc. Where do you take it or do you fix everything...

P38A One for you coolant experts...

Hi Dave I am in Surbiton. I have no fluid leaking from the bottom of the join in the O rings... It is just coming from the screw. Haven't read about that problem before. Wammers diagnosis spells another job on the cards.

Thanks wammers. Makes sense sadly. Would that have come from me over tightening? That audi core is interesting though those jubilee clips worry me and I would rather keep things standard. The OEM matrix has lasted 18 years so will probably replace like for like. This is the part - does...

P38A One for you coolant experts...

Hi all Have located the leak to the O ring joint BUT it is not due to perished O rings - coolant is leaking from the screw which joins the connection together. Is there a synthetic/rubber washer that I should have replaced when I did the original O ring job? Seems strange but it is coming out...

P38A One for you coolant experts...

Hi all I have got back underneath the dash to have a look at the O rings - thankfully it is nothing more serious than a leak at the joint BUT it is not due to perished O rings - as per the image below, the coolant is streaming out from where the screw holds the connection together. Whilst...
