I am thinking of putting a steering guard on my Disco 1 and cant decide if a heavy steel one or a lighter more expensive one is the way to go, some have suggested that a rigid steel one will transfer stress to the chassis while the aluminium one will deform either sacrificially or be bent back...

Hi all I have just bought a LHD 1984 Defender 90 from Netherlands, its a special edition "Hurricane" there is precious little on the web about this model and would love to hear peoples thoughts or any links to information. Its to be a rolling project and bit of fun!
