Was a bearmach one.
god knows lol, again, will have a proper look in daylight.
just driven it 16 miles, needle was up to the top a lot of the time, cold heaters, and the rest of the time, it was sitting in the middle and I had lovely warm heaters. Gauge is all over the shop.
After the drive, engine felt normal to the touch...
Can anyone shed any light on whats caused this.
Bit of a run down but after hearing a dry rumbling noise and finding water underneath the front passenger side we renewed the water pump. That was last week, since then it's been used twice for about 10 miles. Every so often the heater stops...
I had a bit of a rant the other year. The general idea was, you give your availability and your allocated a job.
Got a text saying there was work available, check forum for details. Now call me odd if you like, but i own a 4x4, when the snow falls i am either out helping folks, or out playing...
It really does depend on how your group operates. There are several groups that carry the response name, but their interactions with the national organisation is minimal. Unfortunately response national has a policy of only recognising 1 response group in their designated area. What you've...
Yup, i found that. My frontera was never good enough for them, even after pulling out a stuck tricked up defender.
What was evident was those at the top owned land rovers that were generally less than 5 years old, waffled on about who should be doing what and when, but no one actually saw them...
I think a lot of it is perspective. MRT, SAR, lifeboats, 4x4 groups. People join thinking they're going to helping out in life and death situations. Think is with 4x4 response groups it turns into taxi runs.
Yup, all we asked for was fuel. Some people were greedy. The last shouts i dealt with before we set up the new group involved he transportation of a nurse. I had to drive from Grimsby to Boston, back to Alford then back to Grimsby. Was over 100 miles, annoyed me as roads were clear and nurses...
Thanks Nigel, we've had a share of badge hunters come and go in the past year, but now we're left with a strong team.
I think as with many things, response started out with good intentions and ideas but some groups lost sight of it when people who saw an opportunity to go to meetings and wear a...
My experience of response isn't good, i know there are some wonderfully run groups, and some bad. I used to be a member of Yorks and Lincs 4x4 response which split, but found them too limiting. My interest is communications via radio, emergency communications etc. Others wanted to offer...
Well, done the waterpump, turned out the pump was reasonable, but the P gasket had started to fail. As the rubber seal around the bearing was also beginning to perish i decided to pop the new pump in anyway.
Funnily enough, I had a bolt issue. Not the ones around the pump, no they cracked off...
I do, but only if it's an old, used fender or a d1/2 that's been adapted. Generally find round here D3/4 and new fender owners are suits who buy a badge, not a vehicle.
Have been informed they are mostly made out of a mixture of cheeses.
I keep a box of cheap spares that i don't want to keep me off the road, water pump, belts, UJ etc, so i Will swap and order a new one.
