    Ref my question It's a 1999 1.8 Freelander. I have checked the sensors oin the brake circuit but still cannot get the warning lights to go out. Many thanks for advice.

    Since going along a semi-flooded road my Traction control,ABS,Descent warning lights have failed to go out. Is there an easy fix ie WD40 clean protect connectors or will I need to get a rest tool to reset these lights?

    Check the relays under the bonnet and the fuel pump relay,its prone to corrosion.It's sited next to the fuse box,remove clean and treat with WD40

    Sticking hydraulic tappet

    Major oil leak

    No I'm note a one time wonder. Many thanks for information. Fault turned out to be a cracked engine sump. No impact damage found. According to mechanic seems to be a common fault on older F/Landers he has seen.

    "How difficult can it be ?"

    Have a look a the fuel pump relay. Its located next to the fuse box in the engine compartment. Its a sod to get out but you might find one of the terminals has corrision or the spade connectors are loose.This caused starting probs on my F/Lander once checked and tightened immediate start
