I'm finding it impossible to get the belt back on the pulleys, and suspect it might be the tensioner that's seized, or almost. Took it off and put it in the vice; with a crowbar it won't rotate more than 4 or 5 mm at the outer edge of the pulley -surely it should move more than this ?

Does anyone know the approx max load length with the rear seats down? Thanks

Hi Guys, Our '96 Defender has a (presumably) after-market immobiliser / alarm. Yesterday it took it into its head to go off of its own accord - wasn't set and keys weren't in the ignition. Fortunately it was just at home. Only way to stop it was to disconnect the battery. Going back to it...

There seem to be any number of sources for door trim panels for the older type doors, but none for the one-piece Puma type, other than by paying massive amounts for factory ones. Any ideas, anyone ?

Our 90 Defender 300TDi County has the usual rotten door frames at the bottom. I had it in mind to repair them, but have dropped on a really nice passenger door for £120, which is totally rust free. Investigation with a magnet shows that it is actually an all steel door, possibly galvanised...

Been looking for a Defender but they all seem to be covered in chequerplate, which seems to me is a cheap and simple way to ruin a perfectly good Landie. Am I the only one who thinks this way - does it actually serve any useful purpose other than maybe in the load area ?
