Hi yes my td5 is alive tuned i also had the larger cooling finned sump . The overdrive works very well and gives me the longer gears that I was after without changing for a puma as I like the td5 engine.

I like the idea of not having the winch on the vehicle for everyday driving and mounting it on the front for a day in the lanes with the option to move the winch to the back if you need to . I saw a Warn winch with tray on eBay a couple of weeks ago and was half way tempted.

I had the same dilemma and chose the TD5 Xs 2006 but I am having an overdrive fitted at the moment hopefully it will deliver the open road cruising that I hope for my 6th land rover and definitely the best .

If anyone has any tips on fitting I would be very grateful. I have watched the YouTube video on fittings to a series 3 that was helpful and the instructions look quite comprehensive. Anyway I have ordered it now so it will have to go on !

Well the truth is I don't know but having done some internet research myself what you say sounds correct but the parts suppliers have not jumped on the bandwagon of selling discounted discovery parts to defender owners and the part numbers don't match ! I wish a main dealer parts supplier would...

It turns out the ABS Modulator is off a discovery and its not compatible must have been fitted before they purchased it and then hence before I purchased it . So hopefully swap it for a defender one and sorted .

Hi it's a 90 and yes thought wheel bearings was a contender I have taken it to Tim fry Cheltenham they are sort of big independent . They don't know what it is but are looking into the most likely option before they take it apart !

Hi my defender td5 has started making absTC noises during normal road driving at slow speeds mini roundabouts are typical . Only on right hand bends never on a left .Nothing on nanocom and taken to my local land rover specialist in Cheltenham nothing comes up on the computer they use no faults...

If the spring on my clutch is already this type has it been done or are the different strengths of spring ?

I read you can't fit them if you have abs as the abs box is in the way.

Problem is my wife is only 5 feet tall needs all the help she can get .

Hi I have a td5 2006 and the spring looks the same as in the clutch lightening kit but my wife still finds the clutch heavy . Do you think it has already been done or does the spring look the same but operates with less pressure ?

Overfinch do defenders with very nice interiors they are very expensive but very well thought out and very nicely finished .
