ok so put my new head on this moring and set up clearance as have had new rocker arms. started her up all good if a little metel rattle noise. seemed to be running fine came up to temperature all ok when for a test run was ok. after 10mins or so it now sounds rough as anything no smoke or...

ok so put it all back together though i had done a good job. went for a test run and all good to start with and now sounding like a machine gun and running very lumpy. any ideas. water is not bubbling no sign of any leak im not sure what to do

thanks james, so i just pick any valve and start there and go with rule of 9

so to clarify. Open = spring compressed ?? then set rocker 8 so it is touching top of valve and puch rod then turn engine so value is all the way down/open then adjust clearance of valve 1. how do i know that 8 should be open ?? sure i a missing somthing simple hear :D
