That's what we thought.. So, we've ordered some genuine tappets, bung 'em in tomorrow and see what happens. Well worth considering swapping the camshaft too, if what you said about wear is a definate? Will I end up with the same grief, six months down the line? S

I'm fairly sure it's one tappet. It's now started to knock on the when rpm goes up, so I'm thinking that the tsppet is bad and not the oil. They're only 4 months old though and confirmed now as non-genuine. Will get back to you when I've got results from the comp and oil pressure tests...

Recently purchased a Facelift D2 V8i. For the first 100 miles, it's been fine. But now when idling (sitting at the lights) at around 750rpm, it developed a tapping noise from the engine? Yes, I'm crapping myself!! Spoke to a generic mechanic, who changed oil and filter.. still tapping...

Hi folks Thanks for your help again. Spoke to the lpg man about Tinley Tech and he's going for that. You're right about the upgraded dico 2 though (shame as I thought it was a 3). Oh well, going to cost a few bob more, but worth it for the extra space I gain!! Thanks again Snowy

Hi guys I'm in the process of LPGing my Disco 3 V8i (2003). I've been to a guy in North London, who insists that I cannot have a hidden tank amd have to lose one of the rear seats in the back! The system he's offering is BRC. Anybody know how I can get a tank in without losing rear space...
