Hi all, Whilst driving my R reg Disco 1 V8, today, I tried to reverse off the drive and now the bloody things stuck in reverse gear! Wont budge! Gear shift wont move, plunger seems fine and there's been no odd noises coming from the box or anything. Any ideas?? Thanks

Okay so finally got around to looking at this. I do have the immobiliser function so clearly, not too simple. I like the idea of getting rid of the ECU altogether and fitting the central locking kit. Can you fit a direct ignition feed to the starter solenoid to bypass that side of the immobiliser?

Thanks aston, I'll try that procedure out. I presume, if when going through the diagnostics, you dont get a beep this means that system is at fault? (within the MFU or the circuit itself?). One other thing is that this fault only materialised after firstly removing the digital diesel solenoid...

Thanks again guys, I'll double check the door switches again but with all the other faults that have come up, the MFU is looking more likely. The ebay one looks like a nice option..... Do these need programming to your Disco though??

Thanks for the help so far. Further update is that at the same time the rear wiper and rear fog lights have packed up too. Someone mentioned these could all be linked to the Multi-Function Unit?? Anyone come across this before?? Thanks again
