    Land Rover Front Axle Interchangeability

Thank you. The replacement axle I got was from a later vehicle and luckily came with the radius arms which, as you say, are wider. 45mm instead of 38mm I think.

    Land Rover Front Axle Interchangeability

I'm needing a replacement front axle for my Defender 110 (1986). I've found that the ratio of 3.54:1 is common to Discos and Range Rovers too. I have a feeling that up to 1998 the axles for all these vehicles interchangeable - is this the case? Are the mountings the same etc?

    Front Halfshaft Broken.... and stuck.

Yes, I could withdraw the other half shaft but my broken one is still stuck in the diff bearings, so I still can't get the diff out!

    Front Halfshaft Broken.... and stuck.

Hi, I have a 1986 Defender 110. The short front half shaft is broken. We dismantled the hub to withdraw the CV joint and shaft. We pulled the CV joint off the shaft, which stayed in situ. Looking through the oil filler hole we can see that the shaft is definitely broken, the shaft (wheel...
