    Classic LSE Power drain

I think I may have to invest in one of those especially as my electrical system is starting to dissolve! The car has been tested by a good auto electrician and he states catagorically the drain is only the air suspension. I'm absolutely at my wits end, perhaps I need to go to a good specialist...

    Classic LSE Power drain

Unfortunately for me the battery is tested and new. The only threads on the forum I can find are on the BECM problems of the P38 RR, is it the same for a Classic as well? If so how do I update the unit? Cheers C

    Classic LSE Power drain

I must admit to not being much of an electrician and tend to farm out this to other people. My local auto electrician went through the car and found the power drain to be the EAS. He suggested taking the car to the local LR dealer to put it on the diagnostic machine. I did this and no fault...

    Classic LSE Power drain

I have tracked down a power leak on my car to the EAS. The suspension works perfectly but when the car is turned off, the EAS still draws 0.5 Volts. Landrover diagnostics show no problem with the EAS so no fault codes to help out in the power drain. As this drain flattens the battery in 2...

    Noisekiller UK

I ordered a noisekiller kit for my Classic so that I could spend some quality time away from my family over Christmas! It looked really good when it arived, all cut to shape and good quality heavy duty floor mats. Went to fit it this morning and gave up after half an hour. The cut to shape...

    How Do You Clean Leather

 If you use saddle soap on leather that has a broken surface, highly likely if having been cleaned using a scouring pad, then the saddle soap will knacker the leather up by drying out the oils, how does it go....FFS is that right? :D

    Lights and Wheels on classic?

Thats the second bad press I have had on 4x4 bits perhaps I will keep away from them. Has nobody on this forum considered P38 or L322 lights grafted onto a classic RR? Somebody must have at least tried and failed! What is the dimension of the p38 /rr3/rrs headlights compared with the...

Range rover sport wheels on p38

I don't know what your budget runs to but I was quoted £1100 yesterday by a local bodyshop to make me some aluminium extensions that are welded and formed onto the existing arches. The price included repainting the wings. I suppose the cost of labour involved and the time in making the arches...

    How Do You Clean Leather

Most of the leather treatments and hide foods sold by furniture shops are useless. Going back to my original post most modern leather is lacquer sealed. The lacquer forms a waterproof barrier that protects the leather and colour underneath. Therefore any leather treatment or hide food that is...

    Lights and Wheels on classic?

In the last 6 months I have gone back from a P38 to a classic LSE. The LSE still has a few nigles but overall I have been impressed with how it has come together over the period. The suspension has been gone through and replaced accordingly with poly bushes and new air bags etc, the body has...

    Heavy shaking under braking

I'm not sure on the P38 but on a classic this can be caused by the swivels being worn. Also worn anti roll bar bushes can cause vibration. C

    How Do You Clean Leather

Leathercare renovations (Google email address for number as per other post) do an excellent leather cleaner that removes most deposits. Use a toothbrush in a circular motion for best effect. Modern leather is dyed and then lacquered to seal in the colour. If you have scrubbed through the lacquer...

    Classic Battery drain?

Yes you are right, it normally takes two days to drain the battery, probably compounded by the use of wipers, heater and lights no doubt! Cheers C

    Classic Battery drain?

I've had thye alternater tested and it charges perfectly. I do around 200 miles per day in the car so it is fully charged when parked up. It has a new battery and all the leads have been replaced on the battery and the alternator. I think the suggestion of taking out every fuse individualy is...

    I'm on a posting roll!

At a true 70 mph the tacho reads 3250 rpm. I beleive that it should read somewhere in the order of 2600 rpm. At a true idle of 900 rpm the tacho shows 1150 rpm. Both are aproximately 25% out, its not a major problem (albeit that the alternator may be running 25% too fast) its just a...

    I'm on a posting roll!

The other problem I have with my classic is that the Rev counter reads too high. The axle ratios are right and the gearbox and transfer ratio's are standard. The only thing I can think of is that it has an alternator pully that is too small in diameter and therefore reads incorrectly to the...
