Thanks for all your help, can anyone tell me if its worth getting a genuine landrover cap or are the after market ones just as good? Ive been looking and it seems the genuine one is twice the price

The water level drops when its running then ill switch the engine off and crack the cap open a touch the water comes gushing back up It does'nt seem to be loosing any water unless I open the cap fully then it spills over (only when hot) but then the cap does say dont open when hot. Can anyone tell me if there is a way of checking the cap on the expansion tank is working ok, after a run out the water level drops in the bottle and when I go to unscrew the cap there seems to be too much pressure in the bottle. The engine has never overheated and it seems to be fine running...

Im having problems with the water level on my disco TD5, when I get back from being out for a run in it the water level in the expansion tank has dropped to the bottom, when I un-screw the cap it suddenly rises back up. Its not over heating I think it has an air lock but when I try to bleed it...

thanks for your help and advice I do have a mate with some ramps so I could drive it up and put the rear axle on stands should manage like that didnt know the tunnel was removable so thanks for that. That should make it a bit easyer I HOPE.

Has anyone any info on removing the gearbox from a disco 2 td5 my clutch thrust bearing has started to squeal and I was wondering if its much of a job ie does the engine have to come out or can it be removed with engine in place? any info would be greatly appreciated:)

Ive just bought my first Landrover Its a Discovery 2 td5 im just wondering where all the grease nipples are im aware of the ones on the prop shaft just wondering if there are anymore? can anyone help? :)
