Well done quite a lot more since the last post on here which was a long time ago. Im after info on an "idle up switch".
Rick from RAC parts had it on his 110 3.9 v8 but i don't know how he did it and this would be perfect when winching. Can anyone offer any advice on this?
Got another engine to...
Battery has just had a deep cycle charge and I had another disco with jump leads running. We had 13v in the meter and then when cranked it dropped down to 6v and cables started getting hot. Are there certain earths that would be common issues?
yea it turns fine freely as sometimes after waiting for a short time it will begin to turn quickly again but almost instantly slows to nothing like the battery is dead.
Hi everyone, i have just put another TD5 into my discovery following the oil pump bolt killing the last engine which was a great engine by the way! (Bloody bolt)
So i swapped everything from the original engine onto the donor engine as i knew it all worked except the injectors (they are part...
Hello everyone, I've swapped out a td5 into my 99 Disco 2 and want to get the injectors recoded as it's not even starting. Engine has sat for quite a while but I don't fancy swapping injectors.
Can anyone help in the Hook, Hampshire area for some beer money?
Thanks
Josh
Hello everyone, I have since removed the dead td5 engine from my disco after oil pump bolt failure!! God sake!! So I now have a donor td5 ready to go but wanted to know in all your wise experience the best things to replace on the engine whilst it's out I.e water pump / core plugs etc?
I...
Yea a £300 wide angle prop sorted straight away, where new gearbox was higher meant the uj's were constantly locked against each other.
Only thing I could do with is a 90 v8 seat box as none of the tunnel etc meets up with anything!
I've got a 90 ex MOD van that is just roof no headlining etc and am getting really bad condensation, can anyone recommend a good carpet or similar that won't look that bad but will stop the annoying dripping?
Also what is good to fix to the roof as a result of what's been tried?
Ok guys it's been quite a while since I posted on this thread and have made quite a change since. Since the last posts I have done the following into get the v8 running:
New ecu
Whole new loom in the 90
New engine mounts welded higher
New viscous (fixed so always spinning)
New maf
New battery...
Ok so managed to get some time today to do some investigating.
Took the sump off to find that the bolt to the oil pump was there but was just loose not hand tight but not tight either. The sprocket had play to rock it side to side but everything was better than i expected.
Had a good look...
Hi Everyone,
So this weekend just gone on the Friday morning at 04.00am we boarded the eurotunnel to embark on the 1250 mile trip we had planned around northern europe. All serviced and issues fixed i thought the Disco was ready to go.
We then went through France, Belgium, Luxembourg &...
plugged the disco into snap on solus pro and it came up with the following current faults:
.6 air flow circuit fault
20 air flow circuit fault
45 temp gauge short circuit fault
139 injector 5 open circuit
cleared them down and the only one left is the 139.
injector loom replaced, fuel filter...
i did wonder about that. better turn them the right way round.
as far as the ride is concerned its just better in every way compared to the worn out standard stuff. not sure how much difference this would make?
But forgot to say anyone local to hook Hampshire with nanocom etc could they help me out as the system keeps beeping because it no longer has the airbags!!
