Thanks guys, I'm not going to be doing masses of miles in it really, just pottering around locally and on the Moor. Do I need to strip the hubs, diffs etc to make sure it's all ok or just drive it and see what happens?

Also, as you think it had a tail gate, do you think the top is actually a addition and it was formally a rag top when in military use? Apparently when it left the military it underwent some conversion at Jake Wrights LR in Skipton who added the RR and maybe the hard top?. Thanks again

Hi Guys, Thank you so much for all the help and info, to answer some of your questions - It is a series 2a, and ex-military as it originally had a T reg on it and he applied to get a date of manufacture reg hence the H reg it now runs. It has always had the rear door on while he owned it...
