My advise was to get the car started & running. I have run the car without the stop solenoid for few weeks until I got the new one delivered. If the quantity controller is malfunctioning then he won't be able to run the car. Remember OP's problem was sudden engine shutdown , nothing else.

Remove the innards and refit that solenoid. Bleed it and get it running.

Replaced the RH suspension ball joints today. Just spent about a half a day.. Noticed that the axle seal is fitted wrong side compared to the other side. Didn't touch as it is not leaking.
