Is it a manual? If it is whip the sump off and check the crank thrust bearings for play/wear, be on the lookout for any metal fragments in the sump, apparently a common fault on the 2.7 and can wipe engine out.

Don't think it's the cam belt that's the problem it's the belt at the rear of the engine which I'm told drives the fuel pump

Had similar problems with my old TD5, loved it but there was always something, apart from the front fogs not working this one is great so far but early days.

Just bought a discovery 3 and selling my 200tdi 110, at least I now have a heater on the way to work, it's great
