Freelander 1 Thinking about buying a Freelande,r what to look for?

I love the D3s but don't like the idea of the body off for any of the maintenance that may need requiring. Seems a bit of a design fault to me. But as a car, I can't fault them.

Freelander 1 Thinking about buying a Freelande,r what to look for?

GrumpyGel thanks for that informative reply. :) Yep, a Defender is far to expensive and stealable to be used. My L322 has been remarkably reliable in the 8 years I have owned her but far too juicy to use for a daily commute. It seems the Freelander is the future of LR ownership. I would love to...

Freelander 1 Thinking about buying a Freelande,r what to look for?

Thanks for the replies so far :) poolander, sounds like yours is more of a project then a daily driver. Typically LR experiences then.

Freelander 1 Thinking about buying a Freelande,r what to look for?

OK, so I have just found the thread "Freelander - Everything you need to know" which helps! haha But any owners input on living with one daily would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Freelander 1 Thinking about buying a Freelande,r what to look for?

So I am in the market for a vehicle to drive to my local train station. Want something that runs all year round but that is not going to get stolen (like a defender might, if I left there). Needs to be economical (better than a Range), so thought about getting a Freelander 1 TD4. Going to be...

    L322 Air suspension sensors

Just searched online for that part number and it comes back saying it has been superseded by the part I bought. https://britishparts.co.uk/products/6899-height-sensor-link-RVF500060G Which doesn't have the connecting screws that attach it to the torsion bar or to the sensor itself. ...

    L322 Air suspension sensors

Mines a 2002 and the arm is part 5K483 in the first diagram. Which looks like the mounts are part of the arm/rod. The plastic arm/rod part I bought look very much like 5K483 in the second picture. in diagrams 3C190A and 3C190B.

L322 Stranded in a Car Park - Ignition won't turn!

Glad you didn't do what I did. Left it in drive, after turning ignition off. Sat in the car while waiting for the missus. Then tried to start the car and nothing. After a bit of blind panicking realised I had left it in Drive. You live and learn.

    L322 Air suspension sensors

Had one of my front air suspension sensors snap. Well the bolt that fits into the strut arm. Sensor and everything else works fine just had to cable tie it to the strut for it to work. I ordered a couple of new linkage arms (which are now plastic) but they don't come with the bolt/screw...

Turn key nothing apart from a ticking sound

Have you checked your starter motor? I had similar issue and thought it was the ignition switch (as that is a common fault) turned out it was just the starter motor.

    L322 Parasitic drain query

As Brian said check the headlamp wash, that was draining mine. I ended up pulling the fuse out and has been fine ever since. Don't have headlamp wash but at least the car starts :)

Burnt ignition wire help 110 TD5 wont start

Was out in my 2001 110 CSW TD5 this afternoon when one of my speakers started to crackle and then could smell the good old burning wire smell. I pulled the car over and switched the ignition off and checked to see if i could smell where the smell was coming from. Had no joy so decided to drive...

TD5 110 Nanocom default settings and MIL light on but car running ok

So I bought myself a Nanocom Evolution to be able to reprogram a key fob (which i have done) and to sort out why my courtesy lights don't come on when doors open (discovered rear door switch wasn't connected, but lights still don't work properly). I've still not been able to resolve the courtesy...

    Essex lanes

Hi all, I'm finally now in the Defender owner's club and looking to do a bit of green laning. Im in Marks Tey and wondered if i may be welcome along to learn a few things. Did a Land Rover experience day in a Defender two years ago and want to get back in the saddle. Im a newbie and willing to...

Which washer bottle and pump(s) do I need?

I need to get a washer bottle and pump set up as mine was missing when i bought my Landy. (Spent so long checking for rusty chassis, bulkhead and body work that i overlooked a missing washer bottle.) I've been trying to work out which one i need, but can't confirm. Scoured the inter web but am...

Thanks for that Tim but that shows how to set the adjustment of the solenoid and not how to resynch the remote fob with the central locking.

Finally got myself a 110 but doors don't lock???

Slip of the keyboard ;) I tried changing the fob battery for a new one and no joy, i tried opening all the doors and locking with key and it just unlocks again. Looks like the key fob may need resynching, anyone know how to do this?
