Hi all, got in the car today and it had 1/3 of a tank of petrol. Put about 50 litres of petrol in it and the needle didn’t move. Drove around until the light come on and filled it up and only got £30 in it. Needle still has light on. If I drive around and the trip says that there is no fuel left...
Doubt it. The oil leak was at the back of the engine, between the gearbox and the engine itself so the gearbox had to be dropped. Can't see how the sump would have got a leak, as he wouln't of gone near it.
Hurrah!!!!! Just took off belly tray and sump is covered in oil.....
Just paid £500 to have another oil leak fixed where the gearbox had to be dropped out, can't believe the mechanic missed this one as well. Think I will just give the car to Dakar and let them do a diagnostic check on it.

Just had a quick look, and can't seem to get at the filter. Should it just come apart with a little force or is there a way of prising it off
So this egr valve causes mpg issues, engine stalling and excessive smoke from the exhaust by any chance. Only saying this as my landy absolutely stinks atm, stalls whenever it bloody well wants and I seriously need to tow a trailer full of diesel behind me as it has a serious drink problem!!!
Ahh thanks mat i also have a flickering low oil pressure light, that people on here has advised may be a oil pressure switch. So hopefully that will be rectified tomorrow.
Black, but not sludgy. I took it off road today, nothing too bad but went down a bit of a steep hill in it and i gotta admit it was impressive. I got about 200 yards down the road and the traction control light and the yellow hill descent light was on. After a while it went out but it has been...
a bit like when you have a portable air conditioner at home. Sometimes you have to open up the plug and drain off the water. The freelander is doing the same thing but with no plug to pull out, it just goes over the driveway instead!!!!
Hi all
When parked up my freelander leaves a water patch. I've had a look underneath and the tray under the engine has a circular whole in the middle of the tray. Does anyone know what it is?
Cheers and thanks for looking
Cheers jailon, I checked the oil before i bought the car, before I started it up and oil level was perfect, car has 72k on the clock with full land rover service history, so probably is the switch. Is it an easy cheap fix?
Hi all
Just bought a 55 reg td4. I have noticed the oil light keeps flickering, eg just gone off road up a mud path to a field. Turned round came back and it started flickering. Have checked the owners manual and it says it is low oil pressure. I take it this a bad thing. Anyone had this...
