I have a disco 1 same thing happened to me it was the copper wire on the sender unit had snapped I got sone new wire and soldered it together

good glad you got it sorted its easy to know what to do when you have had the same problem yourself it took me ages to find out what the noise was glad i could be of help

ok let me know how you get on it is easy hardest part is getting the bolts out through the donut if it is as badly deformed as mine was the holes wernt even round when i found out what is was think the donut cost about £20

hi i think it might be the rubber donut it is the rubber between the rear prop and the rear diff i had the same symptoms the noise when going up hills and under throttle took me a while to find the problem but eventually saw what i thought was string riund the rear prop shaft and the rubber...

does anyone on here know of anywhere to go in moray north east scotland :confused: really want to use the landrover for what it is designed for:D

i had the same problem sometimes not starting and then waiting for an unkown time before it would start again usually blocking fuel forecourt i took spider out last night and soldered so fingers crossed aswell again all seem ok so far only time will tell
