    Freelander 1 Full lock lurches

Sadly I don't think he disconnected the rear drive shaft to improve MPG. Sounds like he did it because the VCU/IRD are fubar.

Need to check that any Defender you buy is permitted in the LEZ, as some models are prohibited.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Bought new number plates after some low-life scumbags decided to steal them and put them on their vehicle so they could break into a van parked along the road. But what is really a p1ss-take is that they put them on a Vitara. The shame of it.

Indeed you can and, depending on how much you value your SGC, you could give it a try.

    Tacho'd D1

May present an issue at MOT time. Possibly needed to be tested at Ministry, as opposed to 'normal' garage.

    Tacho'd D1

Some are fitted with Tachos if they are used commercially for recovery work if the combined weight of Disco, trailer and recovered vehicle is likely to exceed, I believe. 3.5 tonnes.

down sized from discovery to Freelander. got a problem with steering in low revs

If it is when on hard lock, could be VCU/IRD related.

Depends what you selected when you applied for insurance. 'Social, Domestic and Pleasure' doesn't include commuting.

And admitted to driving without appropriate insurance, 'bumped it on the way back from work and until she checked her policy it didn't cover her for commuting'.:(

Urgent help re IRD unit and tyres

With Freelanders don't new tyres have to go on the rear with part-worn rears moved to the front otherwise it damages the VCU/IRD?

Can I tow this behind my 90? Confused.com...

I believe that if they think that you are towing commercially then the maxium weight limit is 3.5 tonnes, including towing vehicle. Above this you need to have a tacho fitted. I know that when my Landy broke my usual garage couldn't recover it as it would put the combined weight above 3.5 tonnes.

Smell of fuel when driving with window open

Close the windows. Sorry that doesn't help you much. All I can think of is a blocked breather pipe.

    Will my cheap winch work?

I was thinking exactly the same. Should really go on a 'recovery course' before you attempt to recover, especially if you intend self-recovery. You really do not want to be anywhere near a winch if it goes off.

    110 CSW insurance problems

Ooops seems I got my numbers wrong, that'll teach me to try and remember things without looking at the license first. Car license (B) allows you to drive upto 8 seats, not including the driver and a goods vehicle upto 3.5 tons. When us old g*ts passed our tests we automatically got class C&D...
