What have you done to your Freelander today

2006 TD4 In between the rain I removed the dreaded diesel pump filter assembly - that's it it's not going back! Well not tonight anyway. It's been sent to the corner in a large plastic box to sulk until tomorrow.I could rant on on about who thought it was a good idea to put it blah blah blah...

How much rust is too much?

Changed belts today and oil and filter and saw this :- Saw similar on the other suspension arms should I be worried or spray with oil or brush with hammerite? I suppose I wasn't surprised nearly 100k miles and nine years - I guess it's been out in the wet.

    Saturday Night Sunday Morning Quiz

I think that there are probably a few cookies to give out - for those of you who said VCU splines (joke)- you should trust your first instincts. Now fitted into freelander. This was the only way I could think of to push fit the bearings without loading the actual VCU.

    Removing VCU from drive shaft

The big hammer worked in conjunction with the new small cold chisel set from Amazon. Putting the propeller thingy (wife speak)back on the freelander today and out of the bathroom😃😀😀

Actually I didn't use the big cold chisal bought some new ones off amazon Stanley 418298 Cold Chisel Kit (3 Pieces) Ended up using all three at some point so I had a chisel across both ends of the UJ so it came off square.

looking to buy but would like a steer

Oh dear wait for the stream of derogatory emails - standard advice is a TD4 I think if you can get service history that includes a VCU change probably better - have a search on here you'll see the major problems to look out for.
