You can buy screenwash/anti-freeze which can be used for either. You just change the dilution. Most of the motorist shops sell it and I think Tescos do as well. Or you could put hot water in the washer bottle (ha ha!)

Mine seems to do less to the gallon since I blanked off the EGR valve.

£50 does me 250 miles (ish) on my 300tdi discovery (auto).

How do I know that somebody else hasn't already done it?

I seem to remember they are different as the turbos are in different places too.

Are the 200tdis for discoverys different to defender ones?

Its a Discovery. I might try adjusting the pump. I don't know that I'd be brave enough to turn it 90 degrees straight away. It hasn't got aircon though so its easy enough to get to if I want to turn it up or down again

I do everything on the cheap and tried to clean it. There might be some metal filings (i.e. bits of your fuel pump) in there. I had a200tdi in a defender and the stop solonoid was near the lift pump (on the drivers side). It turned out mine just needed a new spring. Before you take it out...

I blanked off the EGR valve the other day and it does seem a bit better, still a bit slow pulling away. I will definately remove the cat. What difference would silicone hoses make? and won't fiddling with the fuel pump cause problems elsewhere in the engine?

Does anyone know if can "up" the power on a 300tdi. All the adverts I have seen for remaps and chips upgrades are for TD5s and more modern cars.

I have just bought a blanking plate (oval shape) for my 300tdi that stops the EGR working without having to completely remove it.

Well I WD40'd everywhere and it still wont budge! I even took the stick off and cut out the soundproofing and quirted WD40 in the top but still no luck. ps I did put the "bits" of soundproofing back! Tom.

Will it still go through the MOT without the cat ?

I live in Keysoe. I looked at the link to the greenlaning website but was a bit confused. The column for banned lanes has three columns and most of them have different answers in them. Is it a column for each year? I just go down lanes that have the gate open. Tom.
