re; car thet wont stop

has anyone got a hayens manual for the 200 series as i need a fual pump diagram so i can find this fual cutoff solinoid i think this is probally my problem as i had a couple of non starting episiods now she just wont stop. and can u clean this thing or dose it have to be changed

I do everything on the cheap and tried to clean it. There might be some metal filings (i.e. bits of your fuel pump) in there. I had a200tdi in a defender and the stop solonoid was near the lift pump (on the drivers side). It turned out mine just needed a new spring.

Before you take it out try leaving the engine running, turn off the ignition and then tap the solonoid with a small hammer.

its on the injection pump towards the rear on the top. 24mm spanner with really thin sides, a right bastard to get off, i ground the sides down on a normal spanner to make it fit, be careful whenm you remove the solenoid there is a little black plastic bit that falls off into the housing

Are the 200tdis for discoverys different to defender ones?

fook knows but thats whewre the stop solenoid is on a disco

I seem to remember they are different as the turbos are in different places too.

i think the ip is in the same place, its just a few of the ancillaries that are
different

dont know what i did but when itried today she ran and stoped as normal hopefully this wont be areocuring fualt but at least it saved 60 odd qwid (for now at least) thanks for all your advise

60 quid ffs a solewnoid is about 8 quid from any motor factors
