No. I felt more power but the MPG is the same. I now have a later ES auto with all the mods incl an ECU chip and all the other bits mentioned above but the MPG remains the same.

My 300tdi auto returns 27/28 on reasonably long trips (80-100 miles) and 25-26 towing my 20' caravan. I've done 16000 miles in it and never had 30mpg yet.
