No they arent coded to your car, just make sure you buy the lastest version which is YWY500170. There are 3 version out. The original ARF1953 a second YWY500010 which still had issues and finally the YWY500170. Do not buy a 2nd hand one, there are no external part numbers on it.

Probably needs re-gasing. thats £45 at KwikFit

It's a great customised P38, but no way worth the money he's looking for. L322's are going for £10K or just over now for 2002/2003 models and have the better interior. Not to mention the very fact its the under powered 2.5ltr diesel engine which pretty much spoils it for me.

Hardly, but just because a car depreciates in value its still a £55K car with parts a service to match. If you wanted a cheap car to run, just buy a Ford Mondeo or a Focus. Others also have ripped out the Air suspension beucase they are too tight to spend £1000 on getting it repaired...

Its a £55K car, and you fix it by pulling wires and disconnecting the aerial? Just have the official fix and pay some money.....I bet you all buy retread tyres too!

Never do that! that cures the symptom not the problem.....if the strength of the signal is still too high you will still get the issue.

Your vehicle is fitted with original RF receiver part number ARF1953 and that has now been the problem for so many P38 owners and is the ultimate culprit in most cases if not all. You need to go to an official dealer and buy part number YWY500170. The RF receiver does not have part numbers on...

Mine aint either, but no way would I rip out the air suspension and fit coils. I spoke to Dakar Cars which is my local 4x4 experts and garage, they said to install springs is about the same as fixing the air system. They also advised not to do it.....he said you'd get £1K? afterwards! That's...

It depends, my loom and latch/microswitch went because the previous owner took the door off 20-30 times maybe even more its hard to tell. So much so, the brackets inside are now shot and have broken off inside and has been repaired with tape and glue! Reason being he was obviously trying...

Don't get me wrong, I love my P38 too, its just that I'm very conscious of what money I've spent and willign to spend on it when I coudl just save up that money and put it towards the real thing. I didnt think I'd say that, because I have been very vocal about Range Over and doign up the car...

Just had the door loom replaced with the latch, and teh latch and the loom are totally different design now if bought or repaired at an official LR garage/dealer. Mine must of broke ages ago. It caused a huge electrical fault and cost me £900 to fix.

I'm tending to agree......which if you'd asked me 6 months ago, I'd say upgrade the lights and grille etc. Even the wife had a look at the Discovery 3 on Monday when the car went in for repair....I think both of us realise its good money after bad sprucing it up to make it look like something...

Are you able to enter your EKA code in the drivers door and unlock the car and drive it away? My P38 just had the latch and micro-switch replaced along with the loom. The previous owner used the EKA code all the time to deactivate the immobiliser to start the car as the RF receiver issue was...
