I'm wondering what is the widest tyre that can be safely fitted to the newer tubeless standard steel wheels on defenders, think they are 5 or 5.5 inches wide, i.e. can a 235/85 be fitted or is it dodgy? Thanks in advance Mike

Hi, I had a 110 v8 when I was 22 and insurance was under £400 with tesco but had more ncb, and live in a cheap insurance area I found the big names to be best...

Forgot to add that i've had a similar problem and the seals were gone in the pump and steering box had the rebuild both, was a 110 v8 tho so pump might well be different. Pump leaking was obvious though because of the neet line of oil sprayed round the engine bay lol :)

Not sure if this is of help but don't forget that the system has no pressure at any engine revs unless the steering is being used. Pump just circulates froth into header tank when idling...

Just gone past the 4000 mile mark in my 110 td5 and all is great, I did as the manual said which is under 50mph for the first 500 miles and speed up gradually after that. Just don't use lots of throttle or accelerate hard etc...Warm it up while driving and let the engine run for 10 seconds...

Hellp people, my first thread...jumps with excitment ;) Do S3 front doors fit onto 1980's defender 90's? Are there any mod's needed to get them to fit? I.e locks, hinges or door seals etc... Cheers Mike
