    Bores measured with an internal stick micrometer and piston ring gap measured using feeler guages. Most wear is side to side like you said and nearer the top

Mic'd up the bores and put the rings in them to check the gap in the butts which is massive ie (0.120'') when in should be (0.014''-0.019'').     transfer box cover seal is the rectangular cork one. did look at my haynes manual and it looks like the item 35 (clutch detent spring)

    Hi guys I've just changed the transfer box cover seal and refilled with oil on my 1983 swb series 3 2.25 deisel and then went on to do the gear oil. As i removed the drain plug 4 thin strips of metal fell out it looks like they have snapped in half, 2 of which have a slight shiny groove in them...

    Mounting- Bulkhead to outrigger

    Got some slight rot where the bulkhead bolts through the chassis with the long bolts. Have replaced the bolts and one outrigger was just wondering how important the condition of the bulkhead fixing point is for the MOT. Thanks for any help And comments
