    Exploded Rear Window

Used to suffer with this on our first Defender. The steel door frame was weakened around the area where the wiper spindle went through so the frame could flex when SWMBO would shut the door with a certain amount of fervour. We had 2 or 3 break before I had the frame strengthened/repaired and...

    Running lights

Can I point out that here in Dorset, about as far south in the UK as you can get before you get wet feet, some of us still exercise mirror, signal, manoeuvre.

    These Kenwood speakers any good?

I cut a hole the size of the inside diameter of the spacer. You need a space opened up behind the speaker for it to generate a sensible bass level. I just drew my circle, drilled lots of holes around the circle then cut the card with a Stanley knife. Martin

    These Kenwood speakers any good?

Just a quicky to follow on from the rear speaker installation. I have attached a couple of pics to show how and where I have installed the speakers in the rear doors. Surprisingly they do sound pretty good down there - I wasn't sure they were doing that much until I set the fader fully forward...

    These Kenwood speakers any good?

You flatter me...I'm just good at researching everyone else's experiences! But I can read my way round a wiring diagram! Martin

    Running lights

Rather than set them in the bumper, which believe me is a pain in the Harris to cut, why not set them into the aluminium body work below the headlamp finisher? That way they'd be protected if you were to nudge something by accident and would be far easier to install. I have just fitted some...

    These Kenwood speakers any good?

I'll try and post some pics of the rear speaker installation once I've actually taken some pics. The link below is to my heated front screen installation thread on a different forum. Because Land Rover wire their HFS with a link to the oil pressure switch to prevent it being used with the...

    These Kenwood speakers any good?

This is what I did, stuck the pads to the back of the existing mirror glass and made a very tidy job (if I do say-so myself!) of running the wires down the inside of the mirror arm and under the hinge. I have them controlled by a 10 minute timer relay that is triggered by the heated rear...

    These Kenwood speakers any good?

My pleasure, I'm a member of a couple of other Land Rover forums but have never got round to joining this one. If you want to install heated mirrors, a heated front screen or other fun electrical things then shout...I'm in the process of doing all sorts of fun electrical upgrades on my 110, have...

    These Kenwood speakers any good?

Hiya, I have the Pioneer speakers you mention in your initial post in the dash and the rear doors of my 110 CSW. Their low frequency response is very good for such a small speaker and on their own made a reasonable fist of dealing with what my elderly but still very capable Kenwood head unit...
