    22 inch wheels.

Some people are saying that there is a wheel wobble with 22 inch wheels on the p38s. I know your mostly muddy wheelers but for those who arent and want a 200% increase in road handling with your air springs then 22s are fine. If any drivers are suffering wobble from the front then its only down...

    Tyres for off road p38A

Hey dick, that is your name isn't it? Off road means off road not dicking around in mud like a dickhead. I've been in proper mud pal with my JCB so don't call the range pal. I probably know more than you in mud, not like the muddy discothèque your in, move on or be crushed.

Gearbox problem P38A 4.6 auto hse

I was really lucky to get a newish looking box, it even had the barcode sticker on it. I did look over the car, chassis and general condition of it and wondered why it had been scrapped, the engine was missing and I admit to removing the front axle for another job, and that had new upper and...

Gearbox problem P38A 4.6 auto hse

Stripped the box, got a good spare gear and transfer box now. Nothing much wrong with it, couple of new clutch plates here and there, new spring washer, seals and gaskits. It couldn't get out of 1st gear was the reason and move onto 2nd and on, so certainly don't agree with it being fecked at...

Gearbox problem P38A 4.6 auto hse

ATF. Thanks for that, ATF is the correct fluid although I'm raising a question here. As much I can remember I'm sure it was hypoid gear oil was used in the classic transfer box? That said I understand the hypoid gear itself and why its used in the axles, so why, because of the high surface...

Gearbox problem P38A 4.6 auto hse

Dissapointment to see ATF in the transfer box, managed to replace the high low wiper motor and the ECU under passenger seat, just to make sure first. Gearbox problem P38A 4.6 auto hse

Hi all, Today I was towing a bmw with no wheels on it, just few meters to get it out of the way. I was looking for best traction so wheel spinning is not in my book on the soil where I was. I slowly moved it along and then my gearbox lost drive. Now I knew the high low motor was not in good...

    Snow is coming!

Traction is all you need, keeping it is the secret, not enough momentum or too much also needs to be thought about. If your out for driving in virgin snow with gradient a little less tyre pressure is a good thing and if your in a que and everyones slipping around go around them when it's safe...

    EAS... Ideas Please

Not entirely true Wammers, No fire and no hot wires just a working compressor and it shut off all the time. I changed the compressor for a new one problem solved. Maybe breaking into the small black lead was what I should have said but how on EARTH do you get a fire from an EARTHED cable anyway...

    EAS... Ideas Please

The two second hand ones could have worn barrels or teflon piston rings (easy to replace) the new one may be faulty = square one. Do you lock the EAS in the software ? I leave mine unlocked and disconnect but making sure I finish on the height setting on the dash. If the compressors work with it...

    Parasitic drain on P38....

Another reason why the battery may be draining is the becm could be waking up due to mobile phones, faulty alarm systems (households), any signals from transmitters can wake the becm up for ten minutes at a time reseting the suspension etc. I found disconnecting the blue lead which connects the...

    22inch wheels with tyres

I have a set of 4 22inch wheels with vredstein suv tyres. 5 spoke with chrome rim and nuts with locking nuts. I only put them on in the summer so lots of tread with even wear and no damage to either wheel or tyre. These seriously improve handling with 3 tons of car but the ride comfort...

The gearbox high low range motor may need moving a little to bring it into the range of the new box shaft, its like a gloryfied wiper motor with two park positions, 1 high 2 low, trouble is it needs removing and a multimeter on it to find the proper pos to the electric on the ecu.. hope this...
