I can't answer regarding the steering, but with the fan on door opening I'm sure it's something to do with drawing air in to determine in car temperature. Mine does it and I'm sure all do. I can leave mine for weeks without the battery going flat. I doubt this will be the cause of your flat...

I would defineatly look at the lower arm . Mine was exactly the same on my L322 . Replaced it , noise gone. Had tiny play in it but the noise was horrible !

I had the ATF and filter changed on mine as soon as I got it, at my local independent it cost me £150 ish, worth it for peace of mind, as they are a weak point. Mine had never been done and is a lot better now. Was good before but this, made it silky smooth on changes .

Is the wheel itself warm to the touch? As this would indicate the brakes may be binding, also any vibration felt through the brake pedal under light braking ?

Balljoints ? Not a classic , but had a nasty clunk from mine when they were worn .

As said , I'd go for low battery voltage , mine says that if I leave it for a week without use . Short run , park up and get back in and it doesn't do it any more ! I wouldn't worry about it .

Mine was making an annoying knock as I went over a bump or came off a roundabout . Just had the whole lower arm and balljoint replaced an my local Indy for £179 fitted . He showed me the old balljoint and it had a Couple of mm of play in it , but that was enough to make a good loud bang/knock...

Well after using the old girl yesterday all day with a tank catch fitted it hasnt blown any more oil out( It was only about 50ml of clear oil in the tank before i emptied it). So i can only assume it has cleared a blockage or settled down( oil Level) . I did take off the breather pipe and blow...

Thanks, Its defineately coming from the breather as i put a little catch tank on it, its only a little oil, (clear) but enough to make things a little oily below. I'll wait until it stops raining ....:eek::eek: and get back underneath and check the levels. Many thanks for your help.

Hi all,I had the front drive shaft seal replaced before Xmas as it was leaking and now have very small leak of diff oil coming from the breather up in the engine bay . It's not a lot but would this indicate too much oil on there or something else ? Its an l322 td 6 . Many thanks in advance :)

After Months of viewing i only joined last week after having a niggley problem.. Very helpful and learnt loads from just reading. To be fair if i spent as much time reading on here before i bought mine it would have most likely put me off for good with all the problems some people have and...

Problem sorted....! Took off door card again and the pin on the back of the barrell from the lock was not in the actuator/lock . No ideas how it could of come out, but i removed the handle , popped it back in and good as new..hey presto key works... Many thanks :)

Photos as i go then so i know how it goes back together.. fingers crossed its a loose bar etc .. and not something nasty and expensive..

Shes out again tomorrow morning , so i'll take it back off and see whats what. Is there anything that i should be aware off before completely removing the door card, as i had all the connections still attachted today.? Thanks
