You might be lucky. They might have come off the same tool but with the periphery cut to suit the 3 or 5 door. If your's needs MORE trimming you are in luck!

Is it an air-con vehicle? If so how much for the solid pipe from the radiator to the filler valve? It runs under the header tank then pops up onto he RH wing to screw into the filler valve. Cheers.

Broken wire at the spade on the injector pump solenoid. Stuff on that side of the engine has been moved recently and this wire was now under tension. Thanks for your input, guys.

Pulling away onto an island and the Disco engine just stopped dead. Coasted to a safe place and tried to fire her up. She cranks but there is no sign of it firing up. Any ideas gratefully received. I'll have a go and then call the AA if I have no luck. Cheers.

Last year I was in a fix so I bought a Halfords battery to suit my 300 tdi. It has been superb. Batteries do like to be charged on a charger now and again - even if they are in a motor that gets used every day. The cold and the high draw at this time of the year knock them about a bit.

I had a leak around the lift pump but mine was an oil mist coming out of a tiny breather hole in the pump. Also it is always worth slackening and re-tightening the pump bolts. I fixed the brake vac pump leak this way.

Spot-on, Jamesmartin. Broken plate allowing the upstanding part between the springs to move. Tricky to get the box-like cover off the housing. I had to bend the edge of the body hole up to allow it to come out.
