    Series 3 Mixture/Servicing/Idling/who knows

Hi. I'll try and get a new float, but I'm not having much luck on craddocks or paddocks. Thanks for your reply!!

    Series 3 Mixture/Servicing/Idling/who knows

Hi Pathetic isn't it?!! It is ONLY this weekend that I have finally had time to dismantle the carburettor again. And it looks like the float is a bit 'leaky'. I'm trying to find a new one, but it's not showing on paddocks or craddocks. So the gluing option seems good. However I'm reading that...

    Series 3 Mixture/Servicing/Idling/who knows

Hi John. I've only just noticed that the bulkhead on Bessie is getting quite poorly. So are the door tops. Had a look online for new/galvanised bulkheads but holy ****, they come in at some price!! Thanks for the hints and tips here. My mate and I stripped the carb right down to the basic...

    Series 3 Mixture/Servicing/Idling/who knows

Hello again! I've just had my beloved back from a long time stay in a LR specialist in Larbert, where it was getting refurbished axles, diffs, parabolic springs and of course the galvanised chassis, and new fuel tank. Bank Manager still not speaking to me but f*ck him. My point is that I've put...

    Series 3 chassis number

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I'll have a good look at the chassis. I did check on the driver side rear hanger but it's covered in bitumen type stuff, so God know twhere the MOT inspector got the chassis number from to get it wrongly written down. Bizarre. It's a 1972, series 3, well the engine...

    Series 3 chassis number

Hi although an older post now, I'm having the same problem finding mine. Digging about on the internet I found this: Chassis Number Information Therefore if I can't see mine, would it have been covered as the chassis is black and "rubbery" to touch. Hopefully that's a coating and not the...

    Series 3 windscreen wash

Hi Good point, and I'm sorry I should have stated that. You can hear the pump quite clearly each time the plunger switch is pressed. Apologies for missing that bit out. Cheers

    wheels and tires

Would you like further information? I appreciate I am hardly journalistic with my writing skills, but I think I gave enough information to give helpers an idea of what I'm looking for. Let me know, what other information you feel you are missing. Thanks

    wheels and tires

Oh, and my eBay Land Rover tyres, I'm told are for a LWB so they rub on the springs at full lock and are a bit big and therefore put the speedo out.

    wheels and tires

Hi If I wanted original style and sized tyres and wheels what should I be looking out for on a 1972 Series III SWB. I have these chrome type ones on just now and they're great for running around, but not really hot off road. I bought chunkier more "land rover" like wheels and tyres...

    Series 3 windscreen wash

Hi I've been battling with this problem (ok that's a f*cking lie) I've been trying two or three times to remedy this same issue. As a result I can't get the car MOT'd as it's not reliable enough. Sometimes the water appears on the screen if you hold the button in long enough, other times it...

    Down to Earth

Hi guys Some great advice there. I'll try all that as soon as I can get time put aside to do it properly. Cheers Ken

    Down to Earth

Hi Just when I thought all was well, my wee Landy has let me down. Since last winter the starter has been turning slower. I didn't think much about it, but knew that mostly likely there would be a dodgy connection or most likely earth. And I would get round to looking at it "sometime"...

    It's not bleeding working!!!

...and the winner is: Davec and Series71. Adjusting shoes and rearranging two of the four wheel's springs sorted it completely. I'm stunned at the difference. Cheers guys.

    It's not bleeding working!!!

I know two of them are, I'll double check the front left wheel and I can't get the driver side back drum off. It's on hard! I'm right in thinking that the springs attach to the shoes and not to the shoe and back plate, as I found on one of the wheels.
