check your horn buttons on the steering wheel. they can get partially stuck down and then the horn will sound at random. usually in the early hours of the morning as i found. until i found out what the issue was, only the removal of the fuse or disconnecting the battery would fix it.

with the fuel hose. 1 came of easily but the one going to the fuel cooler was difficult. i eventually unbolted the fpr completely and then removed the hose.

often you think a lot of oil has come out because of the mess. but in reality its not a lot. was in my case.

you will find the ecu between the battery and jack iirc. big red plug on it which may have oil in it.

some dont have diff lock. and there are some with diff lock but no lever to use it. all though there are kits or home made fixes. you will need to feel the top of the transfer box to see whether it has diff lock.

regarding failed compressor. i put a new piston ring in my failing compressor and its working well now.

yes, they do have tc. i dont do any serious off roading so cant comment on its ability

water pump is on the back of the power steering pump(driven by aux belt) which is to the front right of the head. the plug is between the exhaust manifold on the head. the manifold needs to be removed to remove plug. i have done both of these in my quest to stem water loss.
