Cheers Sean, I did think about that. Are the holes needed in the tunnel because the levers are in different places to the 'fender, or somewhere else because it mounts differently?

If it's a cold start problem it must be a helical issue. Just search for helical and you'll find the thread :)

I painted my galv roofrack with hammerite 'straight to galv'. Worked ok on non-wear parts, but came off pretty quickly on the top bars where I'm sliding canoes on and off every day. It was purely for cosmetic reasons and nobody really sees the top anyway...
