    Hand cranking a 2.25ltr Diesel?

    Personally, I would never dream of trying it but I'm curious so am asking, does anyone think it would be humanly possible to hand crank a cold 2.25ltr diesel in a series 3 and successfully start it? I think not, 'cos even with a less than fully charged battery you just can't get the cranking...

    Diesel 2.25 hot spots

    Anyone know what the two holes and slight flat area are for on the hotspot at the locating dowel side? My best guess is the two holes allow some hot gases to scour the gap between it and the cylinder head?

    How rare my 109?

    Question, how rare is my 109? Its a 1983 109, then factor in it's got a HCPU rear end, only 18 made I'm lead to believe before the new defender..... but now of those 18, mine is fitted with a Spencer HM28 "Cherry Picker" for sale to Norweb for overhead line working. What do you think?
