    disco 200 tdi white smoke

I would also guess a cracked head or that it is slightly warped. Skimming might sort out a warped head (which could explain it was ok for a while after changing the head gasket last time).

Where to find a 200tdi Defender exhaust manifold?

After talking to Steve Parker again Friday, it seems that the 300tdi option is not guaranteed to clear the steering assembly for a LHD. It would probably require the turbo outlet port to be pointed in another direction which might be an option according to Steve. So, the engine will be thrown...

Where to find a 200tdi Defender exhaust manifold?

I gave Steve Parker a call and he was kind enough to offer to check if the 300tdi exhaust manifold would fit my SIII LHD. I'll call his workshop again this week with the key measurements. I'll update the thread with the result.

Where to find a 200tdi Defender exhaust manifold?

After looking at the Steve Parker website it seems like the 300tdi manifold option is worth looking at. My concern is that this is a LHD vehicle and space is scarce on the turbo/manifold side. A high turbo position is preferable. (Yes, it can be converted to power steering, but I live in...

    Operating in cold weather

I live in Norway and have no problems starting and running at -15 with mineral 10W40. It's a SIII Norwegian exmod so the 24V system is a great advantage when cranking the engine over in the morning. These vehicles were used as radio wagons up North (inland) where -30 is normal temperatures...

Where to find a 200tdi Defender exhaust manifold?

Hi, I'm working on a 200tdi engine conversion on a Norwegian Exmod Series 3. I've bought a recon 200tdi engine but I still need a Defender manifold to make it clear the chassis. After making a few inquiries, it seems like Defender manifolds are rarer than hens teeth: Paddock's and others...

    Military / civvy gearboxes

Hi all, I am somewhat confused about the SIII exmod gearbox setup and how it differs from the civvy version. My Landy's a Norwegian 109 exmod FFR, bog standard with 2.25 petrol engine. I'm told the overdrive from Rockymountain drives will not fit the military gearbox. However, a british Land...
