    Emissions problem

Hi fellas. Just got major fail with emissions on MOT. I have a 2001 P38 4.0 V8 runs on LPG. Just replaced coil pack, ht leads, plugs, changed oil and filters and put on new cats and lambdas. It failed on petrol and was even worse on gas... Petrol 4.90 co level, 182 hoc level which was under. On...

    suggestions plz

Mine was drinking a load of fuel and could smell fuel strongly, turned out to be the lambda sensors.. If they're not working properly you could have unburnt fuel in the cats..

Air Con Help/Advice re low or no gas

Do as I did. Go to kwik fit and ask for a re gas. They tested my system and found a fault, traced the fault to a leaking condensor. Said to me sorry can't fill it because of the condensor fault... No charge... Fault finding done!!

    faultmate fcr

Hi guys, does anyone know if the faultmate fcr reads live data as well as reading and clearing fault codes. It will sway my decision on whether to wait for RSW allcomms. Cheers....

    Engine ECM clean

Hi fellas. Sorry been doing some 14 hour night shifts so a bit buggered. Thanks Irishrover and Rewmer. I'll get hold of a compression tester and try to do that at some point over the next few days. I take it Irishrover you might be thinking duff valve? Easy check before I start spending for fun...

    Engine ECM clean

Yeah I know.. Plugged it in and read the codes... Nothing!! But it definitely misfires on both petrol and gas. So now it's elimination time... Unfortunately!!

    Engine ECM clean

Well removed the ECM and it was spotless. Gave it a good clean anyway but no difference. So now I've tried the £3 fix I'll have to move on to the more expensive. Done the plugs and leads, checked the Maf, next stop new coil pack. Is it a real pig to fit, looks like you have to remove the air...

Just 3 little letters: EAS! Wiring diagram ...PLEASE HELP!!!!

As Datatek says, download or get hold of the rsw software and lead. Clear the faults and unlock EAS. Likely to be a dodgy sensor or compressor. With the software you can manually activate the compressor to see if it's working. If its is it could be the thermal switch which is stopping it kick in...

    Engine ECM clean

Hi fellas, I've got a slight misfire fault that sounds exactly like the one Rewmer had so I am going to give all the contacts/ connections on the engine ecu a clean. My question is, will I need a faultmate or similar to do any resetting if I remove it or will it just plug straight back in and...

Range Rover P38 Misfire. Here we go again!

Does it misfire on both petrol and gas, if so I doubt it's the fuel relay or pump because the gas has a separate system and injectors. Could be the coil pack which doesn't normally throw up a fault code of it's own..

    spark plug gaps

Hiya "J", long time no speak. Lumpy on both. Seems better when cold, for some reason but gets lumpy as it heats up. Bloody thing... Love it to pieces though.

    spark plug gaps

Thanks Wammers. Did the service yesterday. Car was running a little lumpy before the service. After the service she was smooth as silk for about 20 miles then returned to being lumpy. Any ideas?

    spark plug gaps

Hi guys, just a quicky. Have a 4.0 v8 2001. Doing a service on the old girl and plumped for NGK BPR6ES plugs, not the recommended Champion jobs. My question is do I still set the gap to Land Rover recommendation, even though they`re different plugs or should I be looking for a different gap. Any...

Problems with suspension settings - Is this fatal???

Hi, and welcome. Yes, as has already been said, the fact the light is flashing means its trying to get up to the height of the button that is flashing. You`ve probably got a leak in the system meaning that air is escaping. If you couple this with the fact that if its been like this a while, your...
