Disco 2 Egr blank, broke coolant hose?

Brilliant thanks.. The missus is taking 6 of her friends to the brecon beacons which is 1.5 hours from us on sunday, so fingers crossed.. I'll give it a run around over the Friday/Saturday to make sure my blanks hold!

Disco 2 Egr blank, broke coolant hose?

Thanks for response, I'd like to leave the cooler in place for now just to make sure there's no issues with mot etc.. So I could easily reinstate if needed. But from what your saying it sounds like I shouldn't have an issue having just blanked the "far end" of the egr cooler rather than the...

Disco 2 Egr blank, broke coolant hose?

Hi all, decided to finally get around to blanking egr today. My disco has egr cooling and the instructions I've read say leave it in place and just blank the exhaust pipe closest to the egr. However, the coolant to reservoir pipe PCH001360 was very brittle and broke, I finished the job and just...

Disco 2 Knocking from rear drivers side?

Knocking's fixed (ish).. Well I think so.. Went through all bushes, arb & links, shocks, watts, hub.. Couldn't find any problems, one of the 1st things I did was to change the diff oil, in case what I was hearing was driveshafts not correctly lubed.. But no immediate change. When that didn't...

Disco 2 Oil leak driving me nuts!

Manage to fix the leak! Currently have a 2002 td5 with no oil leaks, can you believe it! Was the oil cooler leaking, about £20 worth of gaskets for oil filter housings, turbo oil feed, downpipe gasket, etc.. And once I'd finally got that last downpipe bolt free, it's not complicated, just quite...

Disco 2 Fury of the landrover gods!

As usual, looks like the knowledgeable chaps on this forum have nailed it straight away! 12v at the pump but no action whatsoever.. New pump ordered. Thanks all.. But especially Sierra, you're always spot on with your suggestions, cheers!

Disco 2 Fury of the landrover gods!

Brilliant Sierra, thanks very much for the direction, it's being towed back home on the weekend so I'll have a proper look, but great shout to divide the problem into 3 possible sections. I can see the pumps aren't too expensive or too difficult to fit.. So am hoping that will be it! as you say...

Disco 2 Fury of the landrover gods!

Not sure what I've done to deserve the ire of the LR gods.. Just realised I bought my disco exactly 13 years ago, must have something to do with it!?.. She's been running lovely for ages, then in the last couple of weeks, lifter got frozen in front window and fell to pieces, oil leak I just...

Disco 2 Oil leak driving me nuts!

Yeah was plusgas I've used.. Just in the habit of saying wd40 as a generic term, and there's less letters! I've seen some posts talking about using heat and plusgas, not sure which way around.. Guessing you'd have to be careful with flammability etc?

Disco 2 Oil leak driving me nuts!

I have got a cheap ebay endoscope somewhere, but it's never been too helpful, won't focus enough to help.. Have decided to try and pull some parts off till I can get a better view, everywhere I can access is clean.. And as I say I can now see that it's somewhere around the oil cooler...

Disco 2 Oil leak driving me nuts!

Good shout, but I did the blanking plug last year.. Definitely not this particular leak. Pretty sure it's around the oil cooler, but there's a lot of potential suspects, all around that particular area and without dismantling quite a few parts I can't be 100%.. Unless someone has a trick to get...

Disco 2 Oil leak driving me nuts!

I know.. I know, its just marking it territory, but I'm afraid that doesn't wash with the missus and the increasingly noticeable patch on my driveway! Little drip 6 months ago, got progressively worse until I've had to do something about it. Were definitely leaks from sump gasket and rocker...

Disco 2 Knocking from rear drivers side?

Thanks for this chaps.. I'll get out and have a look when it stops raining! Appreciate the process for checking the watts linkage, and I will have a better look around the arb mountings.. but definitely going to start with the shock, that hadn't even occurred to me, thanks Stanleysteamer and...

Disco 2 Knocking from rear drivers side?

Evening everyone, I've had a knocking from the rear drivers side wheel/suspension for a while.. And surprisingly, ignoring it hasn't made it any better?! It happens whenever I turn right and unload that rear wheel, gives me a rapid knocking.. I've changed the anti roll bar links as they needed...

    Disco 2 Td5 front springs

All done, thanks for the pointers.. I hadn't read the last part until I finished so I did use compressors, but I can see the up side of jacking the axel away so you don't need the compressor, cause it is fiddly to put the springs back in with the compressors on them. I kept needing to shuffle...

    Disco 2 Td5 front springs

Brilliant thanks NPG, have spring compressors.. Done countless shocks and springs over the years, so hopefully I can manage without too many 4-letter outbursts. Appreciate, as always some sage advice from this forum!

    Disco 2 Td5 front springs

Was just the fact that the heavy duty springs are half the price of the standards that had me tempted, but having read a few threads talking about a harsher ride and possibly needing to extend brake lines etc.. Have decided to pay the extra and stay stock. Haynes manual has changing the...

    Disco 2 Td5 front springs

Hi all, just been under the disco replacing the front roll bar links when I noticed one of my front springs has snapped on the bottom coil (break fairly oxidised so been like it for a while I'm guessing). Searched for some replacement springs and bearmach are doing heavy duty ones that look like...

Disco 2 td5 rear fuel pipes leaking - change without dropping tank?

Yup...Was a recall, first thing I did was to ring main stealer and ask if mine was outstanding, but no such luck. As it happens, the pipe arrived about an hour ago and it took me all of about 10 minutes to refit using the wire I'd pulled thru as I'd removed the old one. So all in all took me...

Disco 2 td5 rear fuel pipes leaking - change without dropping tank?

Ooh, last 2 replies correct for me too, but a day late! Yup, was actually fairly easy to get carpet up and green pipe out. I slackened of the rear of the tank support to give me a little more access and got the green pipe off (with guide wire attached) inside of 10 mins.. pin hole in it as you...
