Hi I am having trouble with my P38 diesel, the engine seems to judder when it is not under load (up to about 2500 revs) when accelerating above that it seems to be ok. Basicaly when you work the car it goes away. Anyone any ideas :confused:

On further research it looks like the roll pins that hold the clutch release arm to the shaft have failed. Has anyone managed to replace them without full removal of the gearbox??

Got all the equipment except the engine crane and i could borrow one from a mate. I aint got the money to throw at somone else doing this so looks i have to have a go!! I guess i will be on here for more advice as i go on so please bear with me

Thanks for the reply, what sort of a job is it to remove the gearbox, is it somethimg i could do myself on ramps or does it need to be done on a lift. I have never done one before so any advice is appreciated.

Whats the diesel like? i gather they are painfully slow, i had the 525 touring with the same engine and you really had to wind that up to make it go.

Hi Thanks for the reply, i am hoping it is the gasket as it does seem to be running on 7 cylinders and i can feel air blowing out of the drivers side of the engine, but i guess that could be the manifold gasket ???
