    Stolen 90

Well you'd think so, OTOH, when a new landrover gets nicked, the unlucky owner is then in the market for another new landrover. just saying like.

I think the TDCi steel doors are already galvanised.

    All doors stolen

I'm pretty sure that they will, you'd need the glass and all the fixings to go with that bare door though. That firm seem to have some keen priced pattern stuff, I'd contact them direct rather than go through ebay though, they'll be paying 10% commission so there ought to be a bit of a discount...

    All doors stolen

fastening the door on with some of these might work for a bit till the thieves get wise and buy a suitable socket: Pin Hex Countersunk Security Machine Screw The pattern does seem to be if they can have it away, they will, if they can't start it they'll have the doors and if they can't get...

It would be interesting to know how many fitted with trackers are subsequently recovered.

Stolen - Grey Puma 'Twisted' 90 - Tickhill nr Doncaster

How long ago was it up for sale? i think the ebay auctions stay on line for about 3 months after they've ended, if the listing page is still live the police can find out who the buyer and seller are. The thinking is that the majority of the vehicles stolen go for export either to Africa or...

Police AVCIS operation on Ebay sales of V5's/Vin plates but no chassis

I believe there's a system by which the police can request a seller's details from ebay, it's most likely that the ID being sold will be registered to the seller on SORN, so in most cases the seller's name and address would be sufficient for them to identify the ID and put a flag against it...

Stolen - Grey Puma 'Twisted' 90 - Tickhill nr Doncaster

should have reported it to the police, when mine was nicked it was full of tools, i spotted a post hole borer for sale on ebay that was identical to mine and the plant number that was engraved on it was visible in the photo. Had to kick up a fuss but eventually the police went and got i back...

Police AVCIS operation on Ebay sales of V5's/Vin plates but no chassis

Very good points there Mr Monkey, i agree entirely, I've always assumed that AVCIS were merely putting a flag on the suspect ID's to see if they get registered again. In reality, I think non of us have any illusions that this is going to turn the tide against land rover theft, obviously the...

Police AVCIS operation on Ebay sales of V5's/Vin plates but no chassis

It says in the video description it has 28 days later written on the side of the truck. perhaps it was a promo for the film? or made for some zombie nut with more money than sense?

Police AVCIS operation on Ebay sales of V5's/Vin plates but no chassis

Quite correct, where did all those late model parts come from though? I'm sure the seller there will have receipts for all the bits, most don't when you ask them though. There's nowt wrong with uprating your truck with newer parts, it's just unfortunate that to an extent this is encouraging...

    is this legit ???

Thank you for clarifying that. That sort of makes sense, though to my mind, at least where land rovers are concerned, it would make more sense if they allowed the vin number to be swapped on the existing V5 in the same way you'd notify an engine change. That would eliminate the loophole...

    is this legit ???

What confused me was the wording of the DVLA's guidance notes on this, which say: The original unmodified chassis or unaltered bodyshell (i.e. body and chassis as one unit - monocoque); or a new chassis or monocoque bodyshell of the same specification as the original supported by evidence...

    defender 90, 300tdi, L reg (1994) for sale

Friendly advice, your land rover is worth about £3500, top whack, for your current asking price I'd be expecting something on and R plate, bromsgrove defender is absolutely right when he say that yours would need to be a tidy station wagon to command the price you're asking, not a commercial...

    is this legit ???

Surely you'd need more than just the chassis to retain the reg from the donor vehicle under the points system though?

    is this legit ???

In relation to the discussion we're having on the other thread, what's the position WRT using a second hand chassis of the correct spec? Say i want to repair my rotten 300tdi and am too tight to buy a new galv chassis, so i buy one from a breaker that's come of 300 that's been written off, but...
