    D2 2002 V8 4.0 rough. Misfire? Help...

A bit depressing.... Took the car out to fill up with autogas and it was as lumpy as ever, lacking power and missing when over about 35-40mph. Same on lpg and petrol. In 5 miles I stopped twice to reset the engine warning light, same fault codes as always, multiple misfires, cat damage, cyl 4...

Need good Indy near Cambridge D2 V8

Can anyone suggest a good independent in South Cambs / North Herts. My Disco 2 (2002) 4.0 V8 has an unhappy engine and needs someone better than me to look at it as I am getting too old and too unfit to crawl around underneath. Initially I need a misfire diagnosed. Thanks....

    D2 2002 V8 4.0 rough. Misfire? Help...

Yesterday I replaced the MAF (£145 inc vat original LR part) and am hoping that it may have solved the problem, it has certainly done something. Using my Hawkeye diagnostic gadget I had monitored the old MAF (live readings) and assumed that it was working ok because the readings seemed fairly...

    D2 2002 V8 4.0 rough. Misfire? Help...

Hello I have a 2002 Disco 2 V8 with LPG conversion and need to sort out a rough running problem. Driving steadily at, say, 30mph there will be a slight jerkines or hesitation when I accelerate, a bit like running over a rough road, less obvious at much higher speeds. It does it on Petrol as...

Discovery 2 3rd row seat stowage

On my Discovery 1 the third row of seats (sideways facing) folded completely into the rear wing area. The boot space was symetrical. On my Discovery 2 (2002 v8 ES Facelift) the third row of seats (forward facing) take up more space when folded away as only the one on the drivers side folds...

    Oxygen Sensor Problem

Wolfy Dave will forever now be known as "man with long arms and small hands" (smile). My LPG installation really did get in the way. Replacing the O2 sensor has solved the "way too rich" problem and rough running. The lead on the new sensor (proper landrover part - MHK100920) is about an inch...

    Oxygen Sensor Problem

Thanks Wolfy Dave.... "a doddle to swap over".... I don't think so! Getting at the drivers side sensor is not easy but with some effort can be got at ok. But getting at the connector block that the lead plugs into was nigh on impossible even for my double jointed son who has smaller hands...

    Oxygen Sensor Problem

Thanks, that is logical (swap sensors to see if fault moves with sensor). I cleared the fault codes myself but they came straight back. Will have a look to see how easy the bits are to get at as swapping around could be a pain. I have read suggestions that both sensors should be replaced as a...

    Oxygen Sensor Problem

Hello I have a 2002 Discovery V8 with LPG purchased a few months ago with no useful history so still sorting it out. Current problem (thank you Hawkey Diagnostics gadget) is "P0150 O2 probe pre-cat bank 2". This sensor was just last week replaced by my local Indie (it was towed in by RAC with...

    low resonant rumble

Now running out of ideas. Just got the car back from my local garage who tell me that the front prop shaft was replaced recently (found receipt dated August 2009) and seems to be ok. They removed the rear prop shaft and I took it to be checked and it is ok, good bearings and all in balance...

    low resonant rumble

Thanks Fanatic, quick response appreciated. I have just got back from my local tyre dealer and had the two low tread Goodyears on the front replaced with General T2's, all four wheels balanced, and the two back wheels put on the front to swap things around a bit. One wheel was out of balance...

    low resonant rumble

Hello I just picked up a second hand Discovery 2 TDi (auto) today (72000 miles)and while driving it home noticed a speed dependent "rumble". It is a very deep sound a bit like big bass loudspeakers being over driven. The sound seems loudest at about 60mph, not as obvious at low speeds. I don't...
