yes the mechanic is bull****ting to put the price up ,i did mine + the slave cylinder ( on a td 5 ) in 2 hours + fag breaks/tea breaks and that included going to halfords for some hydraulic fluid that i forgot about:crazy:

yep spanner time again clutch is looseing hydraulic pressure have not looked yet if it is hose /master cylinder /or slave, but does anybody now the part # for these that would be a help when it comes to looking for theses defender td5 my 2000 cheers

could be that you only have 4 glow plugs in a 5 pot engine and they might be getting a bit tired the new td5 i used to drive at work had the preheat light on for about 1 second, but my 12 year old td5 takes about 5-6 seconds then coughs abit untill #5 warms up:suspicious:

hi s2td5 mine also did this the bolts rounded so rather take of the manifold (a job that can wait for now ) i cut the thin pipe off leaving about 30 mm longpipe put a slott in itso could clamp a piece of solid bar in it it has been ok for past year,as for the inlet manifold the best way is to...

:welcome2: the problem with your key renders the vehicle totaly worthless there for i will ofer you £20 for it + log book that should solve it :D

you can also get 1.6mm sticks get some of these and practice but you might have to try a bit harder to get stuff to stick upside down( under your chassis) but works out a bit cheeper than mig/mag

buy a proper kit and use all the bits i tried just replacing the valve and left the flexi pipe connected + blocked off untill a week later it fell left me with anoisey exhaust and no turbo pressure:doh:

sounds normal to me my td5 makes different sounds every day not just cold or warm
