Thanks for your swift response. The engine always turns over nicely, no real excessive smoking when it finally does fires up, blackish smoke only for a few seconds, no apparent problems with the fuel pump.

Hi, Does anyone out have any ideas. My 2002 TD5 Automatic is becoming a pig to start either when hot or cold. Occasionally it's perfect?? I've check all of the normal stuff and had a mechanic mate check it over for anything obvious. It's progressively got worse over the last two months. Thanks...
