Thanks for all your replys, it turned out to be the main fuse wires had corroded and split so after a simple clean up and reconnection everything is working perfectly; for now anyways.

I just fixed mine yesterday by replacing the spring something i dont wish to repeat any time soon. Does it still open from the inside???
